IRGC spokesman: Reopening Hormuz contingent on US accepting our conditions

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says reopening the Strait of Hormuz is unrelated to Iran-Oman negotiations but is conditional on the US accepting Iran’s conditions.
“The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is subject to the specific mechanisms and conditions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is unrelated to the negotiations between Iran and Oman,” Iran’s Tasnim news agency cites Guard’s spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi as saying.
A US official on Friday reported progress between Iran and Oman that could soon reopen the Strait of Hormuz, potentially restoring oil exports that have been disrupted since the US and Israel launched the war on Iran on February 28.
Iran’s foreign ministry said Wednesday that Iran and Oman were putting the final touches on arrangements for jointly managing the waterway. Officials cited by Iranian media said that any reopening of the strait would depend on the US ending restrictions on Iranian shipping.
